My Dear Kaye;and Family All,
Finally, our Dear and Loving Mike-(Big Ed) was laid to rest today, Saturday, March 19th 2011. Again, as I was present at his funeral, I was also present as we finally laid to rest his mortal remains. For whatever reason,I was not able to participate in both; and yet again, I was present in person. Remember, as we gathered today, Mike's memorial card fell from my bible. What a lesson for me, and us all. Mike playing his tricks with us even in death... For whatever reason he simply just wished me to be present...and present I was and always will be to Him, you Kay and All. My Family again send you their love and best wishes from Ireland. I returned at 3:45 p.m today to his resting place- Saturday 19th,to ask him to pray for my dear Mother who is now in ill health. Thanks Kaye and Family All, we shall see you next week for lunch and a gathering. Once again, as I wrote the homily to you, that I could not deliver, I will also forward you what I was to speak as we finally laid to rest Mike's mortal remains. God bless, Love and prayers, Father Christopher (Gillen)+ and My Mother Gemma!

Joanne and I were saddened to hear of Mikes passing.
The Chinese believe in Ghost's but when I ask if they have ever seen one they admit they hadn't.
I have seen a Ghost; many times while camping as a child at Golden Lake.
Uncle Mike gave us all many memories of the fun side of life.
Aunt Kaye, Kathy, Mary, Don, Dave and children our condolences are with you.

It is with personal sadness that I learned of the passing of Dear Mike just this evening Dear Kaye and Family All. You surely will miss him, as he was such a big part of your lives; and even now in death remains so much still. My Mom called him Big ED.She sends greetings and a Mass of remembrance from Belfast,Ireland.
The Lord has now called Mike home to Himself after a faith filled life,of marriage, family; and service to country and friends All! I'm thankful that he entered into my life and priesthood for several years while at St. Marys. The tides of pastoral change moves us on,and sometimes we are never able to continue those once treasured friendships made, but our lives are forever changed and blessed because of the friendship first begun.
I will remember Mike with great affection and friendship in my prayers, and Sunday Mass tomorrow. I pray that the reward of eternal life is his without delay. However deep the shadows, however dark these days of grief and loss, God will give you the courage, for His love will guide you in the days and weeks to come. May Jesus the Good Shepherd receive you Mike in His eternal love and peace.
Rest in His Shalom Good and Faithful Servant.
Father Christopher+ (Gillen)
