I first met Joe in 1963 at Page Hersey when I was hired to fill a vacancy created as a result of his promotion. He was always a pleasure to be associated with, had a great mind, a positive attitude, and a real sense of humour. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. Goodbye old pal.

Deepest condolences to Sandra and the Horvath family.
Joe is greatly missed by us, and the other dog-walkers, on the Merrit trail.
His kindness and smile will never be forgotten.
It always amazed us how he knew the name of everyone he met along the trail while walking his beloved dog-Oliver.
Sandra, you are in our thoughts.
Sharing your loss,
Ron Honey and Arden Kozak

We will sincerely miss seeing Joe and his good friend Oliver (with his twisty tail) on our daily walk along the Twelve Mile Creek. We have had long talks with him about everything from golfing to feeding the ducks. You couldn't help but instantly like Joe. Our hearts go out to his family. We have all lost a good man in our lives.

My Dear Friend from the Trail
My name is Denise Burke and I got to know Joe from walking the trail behind my home. Norton is my eleven year old golden retriever and he would look forward to seeing Oliver Twist as much as I looked forward to seeing Joe. Joe always had a smile or a kind word and never missed an opportunity to ask how I was doing, or how the IceDog's were going. My day was always better when I got to speak with Joe in the morning. During our chats, I quickly realizes what a beloved person this was, as he knew (by name) every single person and dog that would pass us. It did not take me long to know that this man was adored by all that knew him, but also that he loved those around him with a passion. We would often speak of our families and it was no surprise to me the love and pride he had in his wife and children. Joe, I will miss you my dear friend. The trail will not be the same without you!
Denise and Norton.
