I am greatly saddened to hear of the death of Dr. O'Halloran. He was a kind and generous man and I have a lifetime of wonderful memories from the fun fairs on Strathcona, family birthday parties, golf challenges, family get together's and the decades of Christmas Eve celebrations and singing that had become a favorite tradition. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dr.O, was 1 of the most loving and caring men I have ever met. He took care of our whole family for over 25 years. I took my daughter and son to him before his retirement. It didn't matter what your problem was, he would always listen and help you figure thing out, either by running tests or having a good talk. It broke our hearts when he retired but he needed his time for family, friends and his other projects. HE will be missed by all. Our prayers are with you and your loved ones

I would like to start out by stating that Peter was a fine and decent man, and a lot of fun once you got to know him.
I say once you got to know him because when I first met Peter I found him very intimidating.
Having come from a small family where I was the man of the house for as long as I could recall, I was not used to being, shall we say, so impressed by another male.
It was not just his physical stature, it was also the aura he gave off; he was someone I was not going to be able to †œbullshit†.
He was the patriarch of the O†™Hooligan family, an amazingly large, tight clan of folks, which are pretty intimidating in their own right.
Peter introduced me to some of the finer things in life, a sophisticated way of doing things that I had not been exposed to prior to our lessons. The fact that he taught me these things because he knew one day we might be seen in public together, did not detract from the pleasure I received during those evenings.
My mother Lucie liked Peter immediately and really bonded with him at Christine and my wedding, and it wasn†™t just due to the wonderful speech Peter made introducing her to the clan. It may have been that the O†™Hallorans†™ and she had both emigrated from that part of the world, or it may have been the funny accent which became more pronounced in my mothers†™ speech when they all got together. I don†™t know but me mum and I always looked forward to any gathering that Margaret and Peter were a party to.
I never addressed the gentleman as Pete; he was and always will be Peter.
I really liked Dr. O†™Halloran and I think I summed it up best when twenty years ago I said to Chris;
†œYa know for an old guy, he†™s very cool dude.†
So now I†™ll raise a glass of the good stuff and toast a fine man on his passing. I am a better person for the time I spent in his and his families company.
Mark & Lucie Smith
