Mrs. Simons,
On behalf of the International Executive Council and the membership of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers it was with deep sadness that we learned of Mike's passing. Brother Simon's commitment and dedication to the Brotherhood for thirty plus years was second to none and he will be sadly missed by all. Mike earned tremendous respect from all Boilermakers and his true sense of unionism was always in the forefront.
Mike's sense of family was very apparant at all times and at this time, please know that all Mike's Brothers and Sisters have you and your family in their hearts and prayers.
On behalf of the International Staff in Eastern Canada, I remain,
Cordially yours,
Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald
International Vice-President

Pauline we were so sorry to hear about Mickey. His illness was not an easy one to deal with. My father passed away 3 yrs. this Nov. with the same illness. Mickey is not suffering any more, he is with the angels in heaven. You have a great family close by to look after you. You fought a great battle yourself (smoking), you are a tought person. Best Wishes Pauline and Family. We love you, Phyllis John & Family.

My fondest memories..
I remember when I was just a little girl and my parents bowled with Mike and Pauline on Sundays at the Fairview Lanes and he would take me by the hand to the Flea Market in the Fairview Mall and buy me a treat.
They would come to our house in the evening and being just a little girl I would want to stay up with the adults but I would soon fall asleep on the couch. "Uncle Mike" would always gently carry me to my bed before he left.
I am sure that he was "Uncle Mike" to many who loved him as much as I. He will be greatly missed. I was not suprised to see a full church for the memorial service, it was a wonderful tribute and I'm sure he was looking down smiling.
All our love and sympathy to the entire family. He lives on through you.
Ron, Sylvie, Laura and Morgan McAvoy xoxoxoxo
