Simons, Michael H.
Peacefully after a courageous battle with diabetes at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Thursday August 21, 2003. At the age of 62. Beloved husband of Pauline for 41 years. Loving father of Wayne (Nancy) Simons, Carole (Brian) Mullen, Michelle (Steven) Burrows and Alain (Heather) Simons. Cherished pepere of Blake, Katrina, Zackary, Jeffrey, Kathryn, Paul and Michael. Dear brother of Jemma (Andy) Duguay, Jack (Pat) Simons, Jackie (Fern) Harrisson, Paulette (Craig) Salewski, Marcel Simons, Diane (Andy) Rouleau. Uncle of many nephews and nieces. He will be remembered by all his wonderful friends. Mike retired from Port Weller Dry Docks after 37 years of employment, January 1, 2002. Served as union president for 24 years with Local 680 Boiler Makers. Also a member of Knights of Columbus, Chapter Chevalier de Colomb, for many years. Mike will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his devotion to his friends and family.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday at 11:00am. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
