HATCHER, James Albert
With deep regret the family of Captain James Hatcher annouce his sudden death on Tuesday, November 19th, 2002. He leaves to mourn his wife of 36 years, Betty and their 3 children of whom he was very proud. Alisa (Keith) Hotte, Gordon (Jane) Hatcher, and Jennifer (Kevin) Hatcher all of St. Catharines. Dear Grandpa of Amanda, Mathew, Emily, Abby, and Liam. Son of Winnie Hatcher of St. John's, Newfoundland, and the late Ira Hatcher. Brother of Captain Reg (Rita) Hatcher of St. Catharines, Gordon (Addie), Effie (Clar) and Ruth (Reub) all of Newfoundland. Jim was born in Ramea, Newfoundland on March 18th, 1946 and moved to St. Catharines in 1967. He was employed by the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority for the last 24 years and loved to tell stories of his many and varied trips on both Canadian and Foreign ships.
Cremation has taken place. At Jim's request there will be no visitation or service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the trust fund for Andrew Gindroz at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce account # 1302434 (any CIBC branch).
