Obituary of Joan May Hawkes

HAWKES, Joan May Joan died on Thursday, October 30th, 2014 following a fall that created a massive blood clot in her head, despite the best efforts of the Emergency staff in St. Catharines and the Neurological team at Hamilton General Hospital. Joan was much loved by her husband Robert, her son Scott, his wife Ulla and her beloved grandchildren Tim, Hannah, Lucy and Kevin. Also survived by her sisters Marion (Hugh) Patterson and June Cavers, together with several nieces and nephews.Joan was interred following a private family service in Toronto's Mount Pleasant Cemetery joining her beloved son Brent. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at both hospitals where she was treated and to the EMS and fire crews that assisted her to the hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. There will be a celebration of her life at a time and place to be announced. If desired, memorial donations to the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
