I am only learning of this now but I do have fond memories of Angus. He used to invite me to lunch at the St. Catharines Club from time to time. He was a real gentleman, a wonderful man. My condolences

Dear Family of Angus Verge;
We are so sorry for your loss of your loved one. Angus and Connie became our
friends when I put an newspaper ad in the St. Catharines paper. I was looking for
my biological father and Angus answered my ad. Angus was a friend, neighbour,
fellow fisherman and co-worker of my father, Bill Faulds. Angus and Connie
welcomed us into their home and Angus told me about the father I hadn't seen
since we left St. Catharines in 1947.
When we visited Angus last fall he was preparing to move into the retirement
home and had just sold his beautiful home. As always, he was such a gentleman
and truly enjoyed our visit. We hadn't known about Connie's passing and were
so sorry to know that.
Our friend, Darlene Erskine phoned to let us know about Angus as she knew we
would want to know. Please accept our sincerest sympathies in your loss. We
are so thankful he answered that ad in the newspaper.
Sincerely,
Roger and Diane Sutherland, Forest, Ontario

It is with extreme sadness that I learn about the passing of Angus Verge, a long time friend and business associate. Angus was a leader and mentor for many, including myself. As recently as last year I enjoyed a luncheon with him at the St. Catherine Club. And, while I live in Spruce Grove, Alberta I kept in touch with him through telephone calls and a recent "hello" card. My sincere condolences to Angus' family as he will be truly missed by everyone. A true gentleman. Direct but gentle in his approach to all he met. I will miss our annual get togethers.

Dear Howie, Cathy and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Angus' passing. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Angus for very long, however my dad did as you know always spoke so highly of him. He admired his positive spirit, zest for life, and commitment to remaining healthy playing sports he loved. That was evidence even the first time we met, and he kindly offer me much business and life advice that I have already applied! My mom spoke so highly of Connie, clearly the love of Angus' life, as a warm, generous and welcoming person. It was truly wonderful to listen to Angus speak of his bride, the admiration, love and respect he had for her. An inspiration to us.
Our family of course will always remember Angus and think of him fondly here on Eleventh St, especially when we're on the sun porch on a warm summer's day.
Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.
Sarah (and Mark, Justin and Simonne McVanel-Viney)
