FRASER, Roderick Allan "Rod"
On November 30, 2011, Rod passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Suzie (nee Duffy). Loving father of Catherine (John Paul) Desy, Stephen (Mary Ausman). Cherished grandpa of Michael, Caitlyn, Connor, and Alexander. Rod is survived by his sisters Beverly (Jack) Kirkland, Heather (Stephen) Borgan his brother Stuart (Monique), and will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Rod loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren at his beloved cottage. Rod enjoyed golfing with his friends at his club in the Laurentians, and he also golfed with his buddies in St. Catharines and in Myrtle Beach. Rod retired in 2005, he worked 42 years at General Motors as a General Supervisor and was very loyal and proud to be a part of the General Motors team. The Family would like to thank all the staff of the Oncology department at the St. Catharines General Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. Geisbrecht, Carol, Denise, Karen and Muggs. Rod's family would also like to thank the palliative care team through C.C.A.C especially Sharlene. In accordance with Rod's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. 585 Carlton St., on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be offered during the afternoon visitation. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the St. Catherines Cathedral of Alexandria (Church St.) on Saturday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one's choice.
