Obituary of Robert Cornelius

CORNELIUS, Robert "Bob, Rocket" It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bob "Rocket" Cornelius at home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, November 2nd at the age of 77. Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara (Paget) for 44 years. Loving, proud father and best friend of Bob Jr. and his wife Deirdre. Beloved Papa of his adored grandchildren Julian and Jordan. Brother-in-law of Kathy and Gerry Davis (St. Catharines), Tom and Kay Paget (Twinsburg, Ohio), Peter Paget and the late Mary Margaret (Fonthill). Uncle to Tom Davis (St. Catharines), Kara & Mike Brogan (Shaker Heights, Ohio) and Peter & Kellie Paget (Belleville). He was predeceased by his parents Burt & Jessie Cornelius and stepmother Loriena Cornelius and in laws Tom and Barbara Paget. Bob was a highly respected teacher and worked for the District School Board of Niagara for 36 years teaching at Lakeport and Sir Winston Churchill Secondary Schools. Bob also enjoyed a second career as a Real Estate Agent working at ReMax Garden City Realty for 9 years. Bob lived for his family and enjoyed travelling, vacationing in Muskoka and his golf trips to Myrtle Beach. Bob will be remembered for his big smile, sense of humour and kindness. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives and our so grateful for that. The family will receive friends Sunday November 6, 2016 from 7-9pm at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 on Monday November 7, 2016 with interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow.
