I cannot be there for the funeral but I am thinking of this kind and generous woman who befriended me a lifetime ago, was my mother-in-law for 14 years and remained a true friend - always welcoming no matter how much time passed between visits. She was as crazy about horses as a teenager and who can forget those weird horse show sandwiches. She was a force of nature and I cannot believe she is gone. She has been a wonderful grandmother to my son and great-grandmother to my grandson and I will miss her.

It is with sincere fondness to my cousin Larry and his family members to learn about the passing of my Aunt Irene. She will be well remembered. My aunt touched the lives of many people in the banking and real estate world and well as the horse community. She loved her horses and was a very smart and knowledgeable horse woman.... one of the best. I loved her baking and being around her was always a real pleasure. Fondest regards with love from Pam and Chuck @ Serenity Stables in Sarnia

Thea, Jason, Larry and Leslie Jim and I were very saddened at the news of your loved ones passing. Irene was such a good friend and neighbour. We loved the stories she would tell of life on the farm. Also all the stories about her beloved great grandson Thea. He was the apple of her eye. We cherished his visits and swims in the pool. It made Irene so very happy. We will miss her smiling face and helping hands. Our sympathies to all the family.

Dear Larry,Jason & family,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your mother & grandmother. I will always cherish the memories of my childhood days working in her stables & learning to ride. Her face would light up at the site of a horse. I'm sure she's up there riding her beloved Cinderella!
She will be missed. xo

Larry, my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. She was a lovely person and first cousin to my deceased dad, Irvin Andrews. I will never forget enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with you and your mom and Jason and his son in 2014, about 2 weeks after my dad had passed. She was from the best generation. Marni
