Obituary of David Andrew Stares

STARES, David Andrew, Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on October 13, 1940 and passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017. Dearest husband of Joyce (nee Fawcett) for 53 years. Beloved Father of Allan (Sandra) Stares and Heather (Peter) Bryan. Grandad of David (Emma), Jonathan, Zackary, Rebecca, Lydia Stares and Hayley and Daniel Bryan. Brother of Pat Stamarski, Velma Reed, the late BettyLou Richards and the late Jack Stares. Brother-in-law of Elwood (Marie) Fawcett, Murray (Darlene) Fawcett, the late Vernon and Treva Fawcett and the late Muriel (Dawson) Beckett. Son of the late Sydney and Lillian Stares. He will be sincerely missed by many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. David served in the Canadian Military and was a teacher and administrator for many years with the Lincoln County Board of Education. In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. An Inurnment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill, on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 9 a.m.; if you wish to attend please meet at the graveside. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 205 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church.
