Obituary of Antonina Wolodzko
WOLODZKO, Antonina (nee Rudnicka)- Passed away peacefully on August 15 at the age of 85 at Henley House in St. Catharines. Beloved wife of 65 years to Jan. Devoted mother to her daughter Christine Johnston (David). Amazing Babcia to her 3 grandchildren Matthew (Liz), Mark (Karen) and Jennifer (Bill). Loving Pra-Babcia to her 4 great-grandchildren Megan, Kimberly, Connor and Silas. Antonina is predeceased by her parents and 12 siblings but will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews around the world and especially by her sister-in-law Halina and niece Renee and their family in Chicago. Antonina was born in Poland and overcame many obstacles in her life before immigrating to Canada with her husband and young daughter to start fresh. She will be remembered as a strong and caring woman who touched everyone she met. The family would like to express their gratitude to her support workers from CCAC, her nurses from St. Elizabeth’s and the compassionate staff at Henley House. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made in her name. Family and friends will be welcome at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, with visitation on Sunday, August 20 from 2-4p.m. A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 21 at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by a private family entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
