Obituary of Tommy Malcolm Johnston

Johnston, Thomas Malcolm (aka Donald Fraser Gray) - Passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on March 19, 2018 at the age of 66.

Predeceased by his father Fraser, mother Dorothy and brother Theodore "Teddy". Tom is survived by his siblings Margaret (Al) Craig, Dorie, Andreeanna Gualtieri, Mary (Matthew) Wiebe, Fraser (Dawnn), Timothy, Christopher (Laurie), and Anthony. Will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many loving family members and close friends. Tommy, or Donnie as he was recently known as, was a lifelong sailor and ship's officer, serving on both the Great Lakes and Seven Seas. "His life, his love and his lady, was the sea". He retired in 2014 after sailing for over 47 years. He was an avid karaoke fan and enjoyed participating at several local venues. 

Visitation will be at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday March 23, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 am on Saturday March 24th with cremation to follow. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
