Obituary of Zan Critelli
CRITELLI, Lisette Ann (Zan) passed away peacefully on Christmas Day at the St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Marjorie Lisette (nee Taylor) and Don Francis Pepler. Zan is survived by Tom, her husband of 61 years, her children Tannis, Tom, Don (Colleen), Misette (Brian), Chris and Joe (JoAnne), and her grandchildren Jesse, Adam, Michael, Sarah, Cristina, Julia, Marisa and Krista, and her three sisters Peggy (C. Richard) Sharpe, Lally (Michael) Tucker and Totty Pepler.
Zan was born in St. Catharines and attended Havergal College and the Ontario College of Art. Throughout much of her life she engaged in sports and spent time every year at the Pepler cabin in Algonquin Park, a love of which she passed on to her children. She served several years on the St. Catharines Public Library board and that fuelled her interest in reading, especially historical works. Zan was well known for enjoying good company, but more than anything else, she was fiercely proud of her children, loving, encouraging and supportive of all their endeavours.
Special thanks to the paramedics and the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS for their kindness, compassion and competence.
Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Tuesday 7-9pm, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
