Obituary of Richard Thomas Kearney
Passed away peacefully on Thursday September 23, 2021 at the Niagara Health System after a courageous battle with congestive heart disease in his 78th year. Loving husband and best friend to his wife of 52 years, Aileen. Devoted father to Rick Kearney, Kristin Lingerfelt and her husband Alex. Super Papa to grandsons Noel and Griffin Lingerfelt. Brother to John and Peter.
Rich retired from gauge inspection at General Motors after 34 years of service. He was an accomplished photographer, scuba diver, earned a black belt in karate, loved to travel and had a zest for life. He leaves a legacy of love, joy, compassion, and kindness to others…always in our hearts. Elvis has left the building.

Visitation will take place at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday September 28th, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with Vigil Prayers taking place at 3pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 29th, 2021 at 11:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Those wishing to attend the Mass must RSVP to the funeral home at 905-937-4444 as capacity is limited. As per Covid restrictions, masks or face coverings are required to attend the visitation or the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Richard's family.
