I was very sad to discover that Doug had passed away. I was thrilled to have reconnected with him a few years ago. Doug was a very caring person who gave everything to his kids and family. The best advice I can give anyone in these times is don't be sad but choose instead to live twice the life in his honour. - curt

Dear Trey, Caleb, Carmel, Donna, Glen and family. Our family was saddened to receive Donna's phone message that Doug had passed suddenly. Mom, Shirley, has been informed and sends her heartfelt condolences and prayers to you all. Mom reminded me, Doug was her Godson. From the photos I've found, that was in Feb. 1958. From our family to yours, we are thinking of you all at this difficult time. Shirley Brunet and Family.

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. A lot of great memories with Doug, our adventures out west, working and living in Banff, hitchhiking home from Victoria (with no money), Grantham High School and the Embassy days. Wedding crashing at the Black Sea Hall. We certainly shared a lot of laughs and good times. My deepest condolences to the Cookson family. Jeff Hassim

So sorry to hear about Dougs passing. So many great memories as part of the Ridgeview Gang. Even though Doug was a year older than me we had a lot in common through sports. Hockey ,Ball , Lacrosse etc.
Doug and I also ended up working together over the years and had a memorable trip to Edmonton to work after Ferranti closed.
Cherish the memories as there are many.
