Good bye, our dear Alicia! In passing on, you were born to eternal life and now dwell in the eternal love and peace of our good and gracious God. In your physical absence with us, we are comforted that, whenever we remember you, you are always with us in our minds and hearts.

Our sincerest condolences to our dear Alicia's bereaved family both in Canada and in the Philippines...We have fond memories of Alicia when she and our sister, Tessie (Diaz-Aoanan) visited us in Kaua-i and toured the Hawaiian Islands in 1979---celebrating their 50th birthday anniversary. We greatly enjoyed Alicia's vacation with us and will surely miss her. Our prayers and thoughts go with Alicia's immediate and mediate family members. May Alicia (and Nick, her husband) rest in the everlasting love and peace of Almighty God, Amen!

Condolences to Alicia’s family. She will be missed by family and friends. We first met Alicia through a mutual friend Vera Clay and then as members of the Glenridge Bowling Club. Neville bowled many times with both Alicia and Nick. Alicia was a fine and dignified lady a very pleasant person to speak to. Alicia will be sadly missed. Lin & Neville Robson

On behalf of both the Niagara Filipino-Canadian Seniors Social Club (NFCSSC) and the Filipino-Canadian Association of Canada (FCAN), we would like to express our deepest condolences and sincerest sympathies to the bereaved immediate and mediate family members of Alicia Blancaflor Cortes-MacDonald, an active member of our associations and of the Cathedral Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria and a dear friend to all of us who were blest to know her and her late husband, Ian "Nick" MacDonald. The obituary posted by the George Darte Funeral Home is a fine tribute to who Alicia was to all of us. Indeed, our beloved Alicia exemplifies the "godly woman who fears the Lord" in the Book of Proverbs 31:10 - 31: "An excellent wife who can find?...... Requiem aeternam dona Aliciae, Domine et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen!
