I remember celebrating their anniversary at the VanVleets and what a wonderful couple they were. I will keep you in my prayers. Bob was a very caring man with a good sense of humor. I enjoyed their friendship and fellowship at Scottlea Gospel Chapel.

The world is missing a wonderful guy. We had breakfast together not that long ago and had a great time reminiscing. Fun times in Awana at Scottlea and camping at Elim. Love and hugs to Scott, Grant, and Robert and families.

To my cousins and their wives and family, very sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad! I loved Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Bob very much. What a reunion is theirs in Heaven.
We were blessed to have Uncle Bob at my daughter's wedding last year and have some great photos!
He was always so engaging with people and you are right about not hearing his laugh in person anymore. He always spoke highly of his sons and their wonderful wives and beloved grandchildren.
The memory that will always stay with me from my teenage years is the joyous exclamation and excitement of Aunt Carolyn sharing when Uncle Bob accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and had his name recorded in the Book of Life!
Robert, I often heard of the projects you and your Dad were working on - you are very skilled at your gifts of carpentry. Glad you had wing night with your Dad on a regular basis !! Scott and Grant, you both embody so many characteristics of your Dad as well!
But to my cousins' wives, you are fortunate your husbands had the example of a healthy marriage and commitment throught their parents - what great examples they were - what rich legacies are yours in God's family and your eartly families.

Bob was a great Awana leader that my children were lucky to have. He always led them to victory against other churches in the Awana Olympics. I remember Bob helping our 4 man team win a relay contest at Elim Lodge where he of course rowed giving us a big lead. Bob was always so kind and friendly and luckily I talked to him at Sobeys just weeks ago. My condolences to the family.

"Bob’s presence was indomitable, and he approached each day prepared to find the upside..."
So well said! That's the way I will always and fondly remember Bob. No matter what challenge he was enduring .. whether soul pain re: his beloved Carolyn's suffering or his own physical pain, he always looked for the bright side, found the grace of God and came out with something positive. He was a great conversationist because of his great heart (Matt.12:34), always warm and friendly ... just a great brother in Christ!
Thinking of Bob past and present brings these words to mind ...
2 Oh, Christ, He is the fountain, The deep sweet well of love;
The streams on earth I've tasted, More deep I'll drink above;
There to an ocean fulness, His mercy doth expand,
And glory, glory dwelleth In Immanuel's land.
3 With mercy and with judgment My web of time He wove,
And aye the dews of sorrow Were lustred with His love.
I'll bless the hand that guided, I'll bless the heart that planned,
When throned where glory dwelleth In Immanuel's land.
