Auntie Dora was always there
Auntie Dora was always there. From memories of Uncle Stan chasing Dora upstairs at Berryman Avenue to the last time I saw her in the Niagara Falls Hospital, she was a constant in my life.
She lived either upstairs or across the street. She took care of us when Mom was sick, she was the best friend to Mom, and she was always someone to talk to and a source of sound advice. She was the †œgo to person† for all things family for all of us. Who else would you call to find out the family news?
She balanced more than a full load all the time, managing Stan, kids, dogs, horses, and even a gas station of her own. She was so proud of all her family.
There is no one story that stands out but rather just a large collection of memories. Mom, Dad, Stan and Dora taking Ron and myself to the TeePee hockey games, Sunday afternoons at the lake, the real mother to Duke and Duchess, the sound †œOh Stan†!! still echoes.
After we moved away Auntie Dora always welcomed us whenever we visited. Even friends from long ago would ask Dora about us and she would keep us posted on all things St Catharines.
Auntie Dora†™s favourite singer was Frank Sinatra and she did truly live her life †œHer Way†
We all loved Auntie Dora and she was always there.
Love Doug and Barb

Dear Sue and Al - We were so sad to hear of Dora's passing. She was always so interested in what The Group of Seven were up to and always remembered special occasions in our lives. She was a great lady, wife and mother and will be missed. Unfortunately, we won't be home on time to attend Dora's funeral but you'll be in our thoughts. Love John, Michelle, Mark and Laura.

I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I met Dora (and Stan) in 1982 when she hired me to work for her at the Petro Canada station. Dora was a great person to work for leaving me with fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Stan and family at this difficult time.
