It seems like yesterday I was wishing Dennis a happy 70th Birthday.
I am so sorry for your loss, Maxine, Sam and Ilana.
In high-school, I loved sleeping over at the Mizel's on weekends because Dennis would always take us out for dinner. Years later, when Sam moved to Toronto, he would visit and do the same.
Such a warm and generous man, who loved his family more than anything.
I will forever cherish the time spent over the years with Sam, Maxine and Dennis - we had so many laughs and fun times together.
So one last time, thank you for the memories Dennis.
Love Tory, Mike, Pepper & Darcy

I got to know Dennis over 30 years ago, as his mom was my mom's neighbor in the same condo complex. I was a chiropractic student at that time and Dennis was always kind and generous with his time and so proud of the chiropractic profession. I later worked with Dennis at the CCO and he was not only professional but super kind. His smile and laughter were contagious and he always welcomed me with a warm hug. I recently saw him at the House of Chan several months back with his beautiful wife and now looking back I feel like the luckiest person that I happened to bump into him. I am so saddened by this loss. I will miss him terribly. To me Dennis was what a health professional should be. Kind, caring, generous and warm. We all learned from him what being a good human should look like. Dennis I wish you so much peace in your next journey and I hope in heaven they have all your favorite restaurants and that you are reunited with those who passed before you. My sincerest condolences to his family, who he adored and all those who loved him. BDE

I met Dr Mizel over 25 years ago at the Fairview mall while he had a small clinic set up there. I had to quit work b/c of back pain and was very depressed. Long story short he changed my life. A beautiful warm kind man with the most generous heart. You will be missed:(

Dear Maxine and family.
We were very sorry to hear of your dear Dennis’ passing. Laura and I were patients when we lived in NOTL in the early 2000’s and loved his caring and humour. We always felt better after seeing him both because of the treatment and the laughs. We were kept advised of Dennis’ exploits and life by our son Frazer who was a friend and colleague on the Board of the CCO.

Dr Dennis Mizel was my best friend....I am sure many of us will say that because that is how Dennis made you feel, like when you were with him you were the only one in the world that mattered.
Dennis was also my mentor, my advisor, my confidant, big brother, hero and mutt to my jeff.
My life will not be the same without Dennis in it. I will miss our adventures together, his trips to the Kawarthas, his confident voice leading me in the right direction (or sometimes the wrong one); I will miss our trips to the Keg (In Peterborough that's as fancy as we get!) and scheduling of 'loo' time. Our spare room has always been and will always be known as "Dennis' room"!
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Max, Ilana, Sam and all those who knew and loved Dennis.
Throughout the Chiropractic profession, many knew your husband and Dad as the "King of Love", he exuded love and kindness wherever he went. It was intoxicating, you just wanted to be around him, you felt instantly connected and of value when you were with him. I hope each of you felt this when you were with him.
Privately, Dennis always spoke of how proud he was of his beautiful, successful daughters. He was one delighted father when he spoke of your lives, successes and especially his grandsons - wow, did that bring joy to his face. Like any father, he never stopped worrying about challenges that presented themselves but gave you the independence to navigate them on your own. He loved each of you more than you'll ever know.
Maxine - behind every successful man, there is the backbone that holds it all together. Thank you for sharing Dennis with us, the world is a better place because of it. Thank you for holding down the office and your home while he spent so much time serving his profession. Thank you for loving Dennis as much as you do and for providing him a safe place to call home -where he could truly relax and be himself.
Max, Ilana and Sam - thank you for surrounding your husband and father with so many years of love, laughter and memories I feel so privileged to have been able to share in that love. I am so grateful that I was able to hold his hand, to laugh with him, to reminisce and share memories of the times we shared over almost 50 years of friendship.
Everyday I will thank the universe for giving me a friend in Dennis Mizel. I will honor his legacy by adopting his values of compassion, dedication, loving kindness and loyalty so that he may always be a part of my life.
May his memory be a blessing.

Dennis was a mentor to me when at Chiro College and after. He had so much love for the profession.
I remember as a student asking about all the different technique systems. How do you incorporate all that difference. His reply,
“You just got to love em all.”
I remember calling him last year for advice, he was always willing to share his experience.
I’ll really miss him.
To his family: I’m so sorry for your loss. May his memory be a blessing.

Dennis and I were friends from the age of 6 growing up in Toronto’s Bathurst Manor. From Cedar Grove PS, Duffferin Heights JH, And finally Mackenzie Collegiate, Dennis was always easy to talk to and always interested in how I was doing. Every year I remember Dennis come end of February as he was one of the few Leap Year people I knew. Strangely enough today before I learned of Dennis’ passing listening to the radio I heard a discussion of phobia’s and Dennis came to mind as when we were about 7 or 8 I had wickedly put a caterpillar down his t-shirt. He was not a happy kid as apparently insects specifically caterpillars weren’t high on his list. I quickly realized how badly I treated him and apologized. Dennis as I remember him was easy to forgive and not one to hold a grudge. To those who had the honour of knowing him I’m more than certain his memory will be a blessing…My sympathy to all his loved ones.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dennis' passing. I have known Dennis for over 30 years, as a colleague and a friend. Dennis and I served together on the Board of the Ontario Chiropractic Association for several years where he ascended to the position of President. He furthered his contribution to the profession by devoting time and considerable energy on the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. Dennis was a very proud chiropractor and devoted to his patients and to helping to improve access to chiropractic care for Ontarians. Always with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, he cared for people and the profession and his family. My sincere condolences.
